Experience

I worked as a peer tutor in the writing center at my university for the past year. It was a highly rewarding experience and I'd like to continue tutoring in the future. I also have experience tutoring in various music subjects, especially music theory as well as assisting other college students with their studying of philosophy. I was awarded the Departmental Music Award and the Edna Davis Music Theory Award as well as the Chancellor's Distinguished Emblem Award. I am a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the national English Honor Society and I've taken an extensive number of English electives, and obtained A grades in all of them. I also was in choir and acted as a section leader's assistant for two years, helping other students with their vocal training and rehearsals in the absence of the instructor.

Hobbies

I grew up in a home full of artists. My father is an art professor and illustrator and he plays guitar and my mother is a painter, singer, and floutist. I have been making visual art, singing, playing the piano, writing music, and writing short fiction for years. I consider myself to be an all around artist and I also enjoy academics. Since most of what I do would be considered a hobby to many people, I'd have to say my hobby is thinking. I have a deep love for philosophy and I enjoy stretching my mind. I think its important to synergize all aspects of life when it comes to learning. I enjoy helping others grow and sharing what I've learned.
