Experience
My first priority as a tutor is to build a relationship with each of my students. This makes them more comfortable with me as a teacher, so that I can really begin to help them. I have been a mentor to college students a year or so behind me in both algebra and computer programming, and my passion for computer science helps me keep that subject interesting for my students. I recently received my bachelor's degree in computer science from Norfolk State University. Although I have always had a love and understanding of computers, I understand that not everyone feels the same. I want to help students solve problems that they could not otherwise understand, and one-on-one tutoring really helps students improve. I love watching my students become better at subjects they had once seemed difficult. I also like to apply both my and my students' hobbies to tutoring sessions, so video games, sports, and working out can become real applications of mathematics that students may not have thought of otherwise. I work with students on many levels of math, from elementary all the way to high school mathematics. By forging personal bonds with my students, I am able to help them overcome their academic struggles.
