EducationTowson State University - BS, Mathematics
ExperienceI graduated from Towson State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Math. I have twenty-eight years of experience teaching in a public school, as well as an additional eight years working as a tutor. I love working in academia and being able to help students further their knowledge. Nothing is more rewarding than witnessing a student's excitement when he or she understands a difficult concept.I have spent most of my life helping students achieve their goals by preparing them for university and beyond. Because I am patient and able to simplify difficult concepts, I am adept at teaching mathematics to all learners. Along with teaching elementary and middle school students, I have taught classes to students in all levels of higher education. I have a wealth of experience teaching general mathematics, geometry, pre-calculus, differential and integral calculus, trigonometry, probability and statistics, and finite mathematics. I have also taught algebra levels one and two, in addition to college algebra.I believe it is important to establish rapport with my students. I try to make my classroom a fun and humorous environment, where students, as well as their parents, feel comfortable to convey their problems. Furthermore, I listen to the student's wants and needs, and make note of his or her learning style, and adapt my curriculum according. Overall, I work to motivate my students, so that they are able to increase their confidence levels through overcoming any challenges in their way.
