I was an architecture major at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and received a Bachelor's of Environmental Design in the Spring of 2014. I studied abroad in both France and South Korea and received a Certificate of French through the Institut Français des Alpes in 2011.
Experience
I have been babysitting and working with kids since I was 15 years old. I have experience in after school programs for elementary aged children and understand the psyche and concentration levels of this age group. I am a patient teacher and can motivate a student with my unique approach. In my experience as an after school counselor, we dedicated the first half of the program working with kids on homework and projects. I am a believer in organized note taking and out of the box problem solving. I have worked with children who have ADD/ADHD and understand and am compassionate about the level of concentration needed to complete assignments and work towards finishing projects. English is my native language but from experience I can appreciate the challenges of learning/speaking a foreign language. I am available to help with speaking or writing English for any age group and level. I am well versed in Revit, AutoCAD, Google SketchUp and Adobe Illustrator/Indesign/Photoshop and have used such programs professionally for architectural firms and as an independent contractor. I am knowledgable about the technical translations between each program, system preferences, specific capabilities and user friendly shortcuts. I studied architecture for 6 years in America and South Korea and have professional experience working in both large and small firms. I specialized in Environmental Design and am knowledgable about sustainable techniques such as passive design. I am patient teacher and can help improve grades, proficiency and knowledge.

Hi, my name is Amanda and I am college graduate, wife and mother to-be. I received a Bachelor's in Environmental Design from the University of Hawaii in 2014. My husband and I moved to Virginia with the Navy, October of last year. We enjoy camping with our dog, growing vegetables in our back yard and working out at our local gym.
