Experience
I have been teaching for 4 years. My first 3 years of teaching were in Pennsylvania. I taught in various special education settings. My experience includes a self-contained autistic support classroom, self-contained academic classroom, and General Curriculum Special Education for grades 1-4. I also participated in the ESY program for self-contained autistic students for the summers of 2015 and 2016. I moved to Virginia in August 2016, and I currently teach for Hampton City Schools as a General Curriculum Special Education Teacher for grades K,2,3. I am very familiar with IEPs and characteristics of students with special needs. My special education experience helps me create individualized plans for any student I am working with, whether they are in special education or not.

Hobbies
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy reading various genres of books. Since I am currently in school, much of my reading has been about language and reading development. I also enjoy being outdoors. My outdoor hobbies include running, hiking, kayaking, backpacking, and camping. I recently participated in the Dismal Swamp Stomp 5k, but have not had the chance to backpack in VA yet. I have plans to conquer the Triple Crown sometime soon.
